Pontefract & District Walking Club is a friendly group of walkers with a wide range of ages and walking ability. Now celebrating it's 33rd year of existence.
Each monthly walk is led by three walk leaders and you have a choice of walking a short, medium or long walk on every outing so you can pick a distance that suits your personal walking level.
Meeting on the 2nd Sunday of every month at Station Lane, Pontefract (at the junction of Southgate and Friarwood Lane which leads to Baghill railway station).
We meet at our pick up point between 7:30am - 7:45am for the prompt 8.00am departure on our 52 seater coach to our walk start location. If you arrive by car there is free parking on a Sunday in the Baghill car park just opposite our pick up point.
The coach generally aims to arrive back to our pick up point in Pontefract at approximately 6pm.
If you would like to come along and experience a walk, discover more about the club and to meet some of our members prior to joining just turn up and get into the queue. We always make an effort to never leave anyone behind and plan a car share if the bus is ever full.
Paid up members for 2011 totalled 75 which included 17 new members. We also have one honorary member - Christopher Dann.
